In Singapore, migrant workers have insufficient labour protection, with little recourse against wage theft or workplace injury compensation. Migrant Mutual Aid SG (MMASG) was formed to connect Singaporeans so they can directly fund migrant worker needs.
Due to its focus on monetary aid, sharing a transparent process was key. I created these illustrations to explain MMASG’s process, which stretches across multiple volunteer groups and platforms, to potential donors and volunteers in a simple way, reducing barriers to entry and understanding, and building trust.
Fundraiser
I created this comic in May 2021 to introduce MMA’s fundraiser on Instagram, which directly supports Indian COVID-relief groups Mazdoor Pahal and Migrant Workers Solidarity Network. On the first day, the comic reached 600+ shares on Instagram, and we have fundraised more than $10,000 SGD to date.
